Remission Induction Therapy with TAD for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Abstract
|
|
|
Between Oct 1987 and Jun 1991, 45 patients of acute myeloid leukemia(AML) were
treated with TAD regimen(cytosine arabinoside 100㎎/㎡ Ⅳ every 12 Hr on days 1-7or
10, daunorubicin 45-50㎎/㎡ Ⅳ on days 1-3, 6-thioguanine 100㎎/㎡ PO every 12 Hr on
days 1-7or10) as remitssion induction followed by postremission therapy. Median age
was 34 years(16-65), and M : F ratio was 1. 6 : 1.
AML-M2 was most common type. Overall complete remission(CR) rate was 69%
(31/45). Median duration of CR was 8.0 months(range 2.0-33 ). And in complete
responders, 2-year relapse-free survival(RFS) rate was 22.6% by Kaplan Meier method.
Induction and postremission therapy need to be more intensified at our hospital, based
on above therapeutic results.
